What are Mosaic Art Techniques?
Mosaic, one of the branches of art discovered by ancient civilizations and carried to the present day, has developed different mosaic making techniques since it is an art suitable for development. Mosaic patterns, which differ according to the size and type of mosaic stones at hand, contain mostly geometric shapes in ancient times, while today there are varieties with human and animal figures.

Mosaic art techniques are as follows:
*Opus Tessellatum (Brick Pattern): It is a type of mosaic in which pebbles are preferred as material. Instead of pebbles, shaped ceramic or glass pieces were used on the floors.
*Opus Vermiculatum (Worm Pattern): In this technique, the outer edge of the area to be mosaicked is first determined and then filled with the desired shape. In addition to the use of wolf figures, this technique is also used on surfaces such as baths and fountains.
*Opus Regulatum (Grid Pattern): It is the easiest method of mosaic art. When stones of the same size come together, a grid pattern is formed.
*Opus Palladianum (Palladian Pattern): The stones used are in random shapes. More often melted pieces of stone are used to create a palladian pattern.
